tomorrow night: Wendy & Lisa!
by daniel on Apr.12, 2010, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Guests
Tomorrow night we’re bringin’ you the sweet sounds of our special guests- Wendy & Lisa! Occasionally known as Girl Bros., they’re a musical duo consisting of Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman. Perhaps best known for working with Prince in the 1980s, Melvoin and Coleman began their post-Revolution music career in 1986. They currently score the music for the NBC series’ Heroes and Mercy as well as Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. They have also been featured on several soundtracks and scores, including the soundtrack for the film Toys, which featured one of their bigger hits, “The Closing Of The Year”, and most recently the full-length Heroes: Original Score, released in April 2009 and composed entirely of Wendy & Lisa’s full-length compositions for each of the show’s characters.
We’ll also be featuring a CLASSIC episode of the 405, as well as guest pianist Chris Joyner and a “Furious Folks” episode featuring a friend of Peter’s who serving with the US Army in Iraq. So stop on by tomorrow night for some great people, great music, and great discussions!
tomorrow – Jeff Dowd and Andrew Gold!
by daniel on Apr.05, 2010, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Guests
We’ve got some huge guests tomorrow night. First up is Jeff Dowd- he’s the inspiration for “Dude”, “The Dude”, “El Duderino”… you know, the Big Lebowski. It’s a Coen brothers cult film hit that many people can recite line-for-line. Without Jeff, there would be no Big Lebowski, no “royal” us… clearly he is a monument for our time. He also happens to be a thinker and philosopher, and I’m sure he’ll have some great thoughts to share with us.
Next up- a monument from a different time- the singer/songwriter Andrew Gold! I know you’ve heard “Lonely Boy” and “Thank You For Being A Friend”. Yep, that’s him! He’s gonna bring some great music and talent to our show. Be
