Tonight on the Furious World: Tim Westergren
by daniel on Dec.29, 2009, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Guests
We’re pleased to present Tim Westergren on our show tonight! Tim is the creator/founder of the website Pandora, but is also a talented composer and producer. He got his BA from Stanford, where he studied recording technology and computer acoustics. Currently he travels the country promoting Pandora and gathering music for the Music Genome Project.
Pandora is a great website where you can create your own ‘stations’ that play music that is very similar to the music you already like. It’s a great way to discover new artists or classics you haven’t yet heard. You can share stations and songs with other users, and if you like what you’re hearing, it’s easy to purchase the music through links to major online music outlets. Also, the site is free! I really enjoy using it.
Blog from past guest: Belladonna!
by daniel on Dec.21, 2009, under Furious World Guests
Belladonna, an incredible noir-rock band from Italy, stopped by the Furious World in October! They gave an incredibly energetic performance- heck, my ears are still ringing! Plus, the band had style. Check out those sunglasses the bass player is wearing! Dani, the lead guitar player, had this to say about their experience on our show-
“Participating to Peter Himmelmann’s Furious World was one of the most exhilarating experience we’ve ever had as a band! Yes, we are only a new band, but having already shared stages with the likes of Nine inch Nails and Dita Von Teese – to name but two – we’ve had our fair share of thrills – yet our Furious World experience was truly something else!
First of all, the sheer courtesy and loveliness of all the staff was beyond belief: it felt like home from the minute we stepped into the studio, and even though we were supposed to leave right after our performance for a previously scheduled appointment somewhere else in L.A. we just didn’t!! We were having too great a time to even contemplate that!
And meeting Peter – the man himself! – was a bit like meeting one of the Fantastic Four or Father Christmas: a character waaaay larger than life, with enough energy to supply electricity to a small country, a total, total music enthusiast and above all a diamond guy and true joy to be with! The man has to be experienced to be believed!! During our interview with him we almost didn’t get a word in edgeways and not because he didn’t let us – far from it! - but because we didn’t want to!! It was just so awesome listening to him that we had no desire to stop him, ever!! We mean, why waste your time with Peter Himmelmann talking when you can just marvel at the words and worlds he comes up with?? We did not make that mistake, and the experience was a most unforgettable, inspiring and pleasurable one!
Now we have just played a great showcase in London, we have many European dates lined up in early 2010, we are already songwriting for a new record… but the thing we are looking forward the most is for when we’ll be in L.A. again, so to have a reason to ask Peter to have us on Furious World again!! They say the second time is always better than the first one… …we guess that if we’ll have another rocknoir jam with Peter the whole studio will just explode!! That’s the only way we can possibly top what happened on our first visit there!! Furious World? Indeed!! And a truly, truly beautiful one…”

“All our love to you, Peter and everyone at Furious World from em and the band+ totally looking forward to hearing from you soon!!!
Dani”
Thanks for the great words, Dani! It was a pleasure meeting everyone in Belladonna- please say hi to Luana, Alex, Alice, and Tam from all of us at the Furious World!

This week’s guest: Raining Jane!
by daniel on Dec.19, 2009, under Furious World Guests
We’re excited to have the talented group “Raining Jane” as our special guest this week! Actually, we’ve gotten to know the group really well from their participation in Peter’s Songwriting Seminar; they’re fabulously talented and have brought a lot to the class. It’s gonna be a great night at the studio- especially for our members with access to our backstage site!

Raining Jane is an eclectic rock-folk band based in Los Angeles. They tour quite frequently, averaging 120 shows a year! Just last week they played a benefit for Rock & Roll Camp For Girls, which they have also participated in as instructors. They released their third album last year; their music has also been featured on “Grey’s Anatomy” and featured on the Jason Mraz EP “We Sing”. Here’s a link to their website, where you can check out their latest news and music.
This week’s guest: Ingrid Vanderveldt!
by daniel on Dec.13, 2009, under Furious World Guests
This week we’re bringing you an extraordinary entrepreneur- Ingrid Vanderveldt! We’ve had a relationship with her online show, “On The Road With iV”, and the production team, including producer/entrepreneur Lyn Graft of Club E Network and LG Pictures. We’ve had her in the studio before, but only as our audience- finally we’ll be giving her some spotlight!

Ingrid is someone with a LOT of energy! When she’s not riding motorcycles, or jumping out of (perfectly good) airplanes, she’s founding start-ups and making waves all over the place! A Master’s in Architecture (former National Director of the American Institute of Architecture Students) and an MBA Entrepreneurship, she also owns a technology patent for her first tech company and is a founding member of the Billionare Girls Club.
And that’s just a small part of her bio! Does she ever slow down? Find out on the Furious World this Tuesday night at 7pm PST!
Guest blogger: Ernie Halter talks about his experience on our show
by daniel on Dec.12, 2009, under Furious World Guests

A few weeks back we had the talented singer/songwriter Ernie Halter on our show. You can find the episode here; scroll down to the show with his picture. We really enjoyed having him; also, we haven’t had a ukulele on the show since Tom Morey- the inventor of the boogie board- was our guest!
Ernie had this to say about the experience:
“Many thanks for havin me on Furious World. Dug the turtle with the deep soulful voice. : ] Seriously though, very impressed with setup y’all have and what you’ve built and continue to build in terms of the connection with your fans. Would love to do it again sometime. Currently writing for a new record and will be recording in January. Here’s a sneak peak at a new tune:

Hope you all have a great holiday. Cheers- Ernie Halter”

Thanks for the kind words, Ernie! It was a pleasure having you on the show- and keep up the good work!
The Little Things
by daniel on Dec.12, 2009, under Furious World Announcement

It’s easy to take the little things for granted, I realized after the show tonight, while re-soldering a 1/4″ output on one of our mixers. Thankfully, I don’t often have to dig out the soldering iron and tear into our equipment, but it got me thinking. We broadcast using tons of computers, pre-amps, mics, cameras- yet, the value of each piece of equipment is truly felt when it no longer works.

The same perceived value can be applied to our show. Thousands of people casually enjoy our show every week; if they thought that they were watching our ‘last show’, would they not value the experience even more?

Unfortunately, that ‘last show’ is fast approaching, and we need your help. Become a member for only $10 a month, and you’ll get access to our backstage site with tons of extra content. There’s also our cafepress store, where you can get cool merchandise for yourself, your family, or your second cousin in Greenland. Finally, tell your friends! More viewers will help us market our show towards sponsors who will help secure it’s future.

If you value our show, and we know you do- please consider helping us out!
