NewTek TriCasts America Tour

by daniel on Oct.26, 2009, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Production Notes

We’re excited to be one of the first stops of NewTek’s tour of America!  They’re starting here in LA, and then driving all the way to NYC, stopping at various shows and events along the way.  If you see a Mini Cooper driving down the road with a huge satellite dish on top, well, that’s the tour bus!

Our TriCaster has made a HUGE improvement in the video quality of our show, and Marc’s gotten pretty good at running it.  It’s also nice and small, which makes it very portable- and nice to have in our *tiny* studio.  We’re looking forward to showing it off to the NewTek team!

Tomorrow’s Guest: Judea Pearl

We’re pleased to have Dr. Judea Pearl on the show tomorrow!  He’s a computer scientist, a philosopher, and a professor at UCLA; Judea is also one of the founders of the Daniel Pearl Foundation.  You may remember his son, Daniel- he was a Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and brutally murdered by Al Qaeda in Pakistan in early 2002.  After Daniel’s death, Peter found out that he was a fan of his music; this had a big effect on Peter, and he has been friends with the family ever since.

Matt Cusson on the Furious World

by daniel on Oct.18, 2009, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Guests

We’re pleased to have Matt Cusson join us this week on the show!  Matt is a gifted singer/songwriter/pianist, currently on tour with Brian McKnight.  He’s also played with musical greats such as Stevie Wonder, The Roots, and James Taylor.  You’ll love his soulful vocals and skillful piano-playing!

You can listen to some of his music on his myspace music page; he has recently released his self-titled debut album, which is available as an itunes download or as a CD at Amazon.com.

Next week- Belladonna!

by daniel on Oct.09, 2009, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Guests

Belladonna, a great band from Italy, is doing some events in LA, and we lined them up for our show next week!  They’ve got a great sound- I’m calling it energetic-metal-rock.  We’ve had the blues (Paging Beto), we’ve visited the experimental folks (The 1921A), now we’re gonna try something heavier!

You can listen to some of the music from their latest album at their myspace music page.

Tomorrow’s guest: The 1921A

by daniel on Oct.05, 2009, under Furious World Announcement, Furious World Guests

Picture 18We’ve got another great band lined up for tomorrow night!  We’ve done a number of bands lately- the Ruby Friedman Orchestra, Joe Henry had a great group with him last week…

Tomorrow’s guest is The 1921A, an alternative experimental folk band based here in LA.  Their sound is very unique- historical, yet hip.  You can listen to some of their recent work at myspace; they also have a video online of them performing recently at the Silverlake Lounge.  We’re excited to have them on the show!
