My Goals for You in this Seminar
"There are two things that help to cull a song from the ephemeral into the manifest: a paycheck and a deadline. Short of those, I can provide you with the next best thing. As your teacher and facilitator, I'll show you how to write in a way that feels effortless. No matter what skill level you're at, I guarantee you will be writing more and better songs than you ever dreamed possible. Plus, I will train you to go into a frame of mind where the song feels like it is gifted-where it seems like writing is a process of receiving.
"An internal editor/critic lives inside us all. Far too frequently, it is the enemy of spontaneous creative genius. It has plagued artists and destroyed countless works. Its unfaltering mission is to protect us from the potential shame of writing something mediocre, or even awful. But more often than not, the internal critic works too hard and judges too harshly. That's why we need it to leave us alone for a while as we create. In over 30 years of songwriting, I have developed some highly effective techniques for doing just that.
